Data Analyst/Cyber Risk
Job Description
Peraton is seeking a Data Analyst/Cyber Risk to deliver Mission Assurance and Operations Research Analysis (MA/ORSA) support for the Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC). In this onsite role at Fort Meade, you will help assess and manage risks related to the secure operation and defensibility of cyberspace, supporting decision-making for mission execution.
What you’ll do
- Identify and recommend cyber terrain and activities that may affect DoD mission execution, including recommendations and requirements for improvements
- Conduct analysis of risks and mitigation or remediation options to support operational decision-making
- Coordinate and support weekly execution of a Cyber Operational Analysis Working Group, Mission Assurance working groups, and technical exchange meetings
- Support completion of related operations research and mathematical work as needs arise
- Lead and define operational risk assessments and analyses by DAO, sector, and defined terrain segments
- Coordinate with AOs, sector commanders/directors, and other stakeholders to identify cyber-relevant risk, strategies, tolerance, and related factors
- Define and document analysis factors, risk reporting criteria, and risk categories
- Incorporate results from war-gaming and analyses into risk assessments, options, issues, and outcomes in collaboration with DoD stakeholders
- Capture stakeholder collaboration results in an assessment report, updated monthly
- Manage multiple assignments, changing priorities, and independent execution with limited oversight
- Provide technical guidance to support planning, direction-setting, initiative definition, and development of solutions
- Track and respond to task submissions via the Task Management Tool (TMT) and monitor the team’s shared mailbox with timely, accurate responses
Education and experience
- Minimum 8 years experience with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with Ph.D.
- Alternate experience consideration: Associate with 10 years or HS + 12 years
Required skills and background
- Experience with cloud-based data warehousing, specifically the Big Data Platform (BDP)
- Experience writing data parsers for the BDP
- Experience with Kafka and Apachi NiFi
- Expertise in cloud-native data storage services and data warehousing methods
- Familiarity with SQL and noSQL data storage methods
- In-depth understanding of all aspects of Defensive Cyberspace Operations
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders using a variety of formats
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to work periodically on shift to support the team
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain SCI

Compensation
Target salary range: $135,000 to $216,000 per year. Salary depends on scope and responsibilities, experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business or contract considerations. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay, depending on position.
