Data Analyst II
Job Description
Build analytics that improve cross-functional transportation decision-making at Walmart in Bentonville, AR.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex transportation and business data to support decisions across domains including Inbound and Outbound Transportation, product, finance, and technology
- Identify, source, and validate relevant datasets to ensure data quality and integrity for accurate reporting
- Create and maintain business requirements documentation to guide project activities and process improvements
- Use statistical techniques and data visualization tools to interpret trends, outliers, and correlations
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable insights and support solution development
- Support data cleansing, profiling, and validation to improve data reliability
- Communicate findings clearly to influence business strategies and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Proficiency with data analysis techniques and tools, including SQL and Python
- Experience documenting business requirements and working with cross-domain business practices
- Ability to identify, assess, and improve data quality using established data management frameworks and tools
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices, including experience with tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
- Strong analytical skills to support exploratory data analysis under guidance
- Effective communication skills to present insights and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with project management principles to support delivery of assigned tasks and process improvements

Minimum Qualifications
- Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance, or related field
- Option 2: 2 years of experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Data science, data analysis, statistics, or related field
- Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Related industry experience (for example, retail, merchandising, healthcare, eCommerce)
- Completion of assessments in data analysis and Business Intelligence tools and scripting languages (examples: SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, R, Power BI, Tableau)
Team Focus
- Prioritize technology needs and collaborate with business stakeholders to align initiatives with strategic goals
- Lead creation of Business Requirements Documentation, manage sprint planning, and assess trade-offs
- Coordinate Proof of Concepts and support implementation planning for analytical and consultative support
- Translate business strategies into actionable analytics projects, identify key customer insights, and assist with testing and validation
- Apply data management and root cause analysis alongside business requirements development to drive informed decision-making

Salary range: USD 70,000 - 130,000 per year.
