DATA ANALYST II

Support finance leadership with analytics that make budgeting, accounting, and financial operations easier to run. In this Data Analyst II role at Missouri S&T, you will build and maintain Power BI dashboards, automate recurring reporting, and create tools that improve how teams collect data and make decisions. The position is based onsite in Rolla, MO and is designed for someone who enjoys translating business questions into practical BI solutions and helping stakeholders adopt new data products.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for budget, accounting, and finance operations
• Analyze financial and operational data to support budget, accounting, and executive decision-making
• Automate manual and recurring reporting processes using Power Automate and related tools
• Develop PowerApp tools to improve data collection and increase efficiency
• Consult with the Vice Chancellor of Finance and finance leadership to translate business questions into analytic solutions
• Identify and implement process improvements across finance and operations workflows
• Coordinate with members of the BI team or Data Engineering team to develop solutions
• Collaborate with Finance & Operations leaders and department heads to understand BI needs and priorities
• Translate requirements into BI solutions that address specific business challenges and opportunities
• Provide training and support to stakeholders and end users using data products developed for Finance & Operations
• Communicate regularly with division and campus stakeholders about new tools, products, and upcoming changes/releases

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• At least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Computer Science
• Preferred: Four years of data analytics or process improvement experience
• Preferred: Prior experience in higher education

Compensation and job details

Anticipated hiring range: $70,152 to $104,104 per year. Salary is determined based on factors including education, skills, experience, and organizational requirements. This role is grade GGS 12, University Title DATA ANALYST II.
