Data Analyst - SQL

Motion Recruitment seeks an early-career Data Analyst to contribute to client-facing data acquisition and migration work across multiple environments. The role combines SQL-based extraction and transformation with scripting and validation, alongside collaboration with clients through key points in the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities

• Data extraction, transformation, and validation (35%) to ensure accuracy and readiness of migrated datasets
• Client interaction and requirements gathering (25%) to support data acquisition initiatives
• Development of scripts and automation processes (20%) to streamline recurring workflows
• Collaboration with team members across projects (10%) to coordinate deliverables
• Documentation and quality assurance (10%) to support reliability and maintainability

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience: 1-3 years in professional services, client implementations, or data migration projects
• Database skills: Strong experience with SQL and relational database management systems, including MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or AS400
• Data handling: Experience extracting and transforming data from structured, semi-structured, and unstructured sources
• Requirements: Ability to gather and analyze system requirements for data acquisition
• Working style: Attention to detail, organization, and analytical thinking
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in client-facing environments
