Job Description
Hilton is hiring a contract Data Analyst/Technical Product Owner to support its data warehousing team. This remote role focuses on helping ensure reliable, accurate data products, strengthening data health practices, and enabling new data ingestions through analysis, profiling, and governance.
What you’ll get to work on
- Help support data warehousing initiatives by monitoring data products to ensure the information loaded into databases remains reliable and accurate.
- Perform Source to Target mapping analysis, confirming mappings align with established standards and staying current as changes occur.
- Query tables, analyze data, and prepare reports that support business objectives.
- Profile new data assets and document results to support the development of new data ingestions.
- Support QA activities during the development of new data products or enhancements to existing products.
- Provide production support for incident tickets and respond to user questions related to data products.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to understand trends and data behavior, and communicate or document findings for internal teams.
- Catalog data assets and apply classification labels in line with Hilton’s PII classification standards.
- Support data health initiatives by applying Data Quality fundamentals and documenting data quality processes.
Skills and experience needed
- 5+ years of experience and strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data sets.
- Proficiency querying databases and working with large volumes of structured data.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Experience with Source to Target mapping analysis and documentation.
- Knowledge of Data Quality principles and data health monitoring practices.
- Understanding of PII classification standards and data governance frameworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to prioritize work effectively and exercise sound judgment in moderately complex situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with general supervision while managing multiple tasks and projects.
