Job Description
This Data Engineer role, based onsite in Helena, Montana, supports a state office with a focus on data management, architecture, and pipelines. The engagement runs for six months as a contract, with the potential for permanent placement.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the collection, governance, and storage of data across the department, enhancing quality, integrity, reliability, and access to data assets.
- Architects and implements modern data and application architectures with a focus on cloud platforms and modular, best‑in‑class components.
- Develops data pipelines that integrate information from multiple source systems and establishes the infrastructure for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- A bachelor’s degree in data sciences is desirable.
- Experience with PowerShell.
- Proficiency in SQL, Oracle, Snowflake, Fivetran, Python, DBT, GitLab/GitHub, Power BI, Tableau, and ThoughtSpot.
