Job Description

StaffBuffalo offers a hybrid Data Engineer role in the Buffalo, NY area with a salary range of $90,000 to $125,000 per year and bonus potential. The position focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that support enterprise integrations, data migration, and reporting, with an emphasis on ETL/ELT, data quality controls, and analytics. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting enterprise integrations, data migration initiatives, and reporting needs
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and application teams to define and support data requirements across operational, financial, regulatory, and customer systems
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
  • Implement data quality checks, reconciliation processes, and monitoring controls to support auditability and compliance
  • Support enterprise analytics and reporting initiatives by curating trusted datasets for downstream users and systems
  • Document data mappings, workflows, technical specifications, and system designs for long-term maintainability
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to align data solutions with enterprise technology standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field required
  • 10+ years of professional IT experience, including data engineering, data integration, or analytics-focused roles
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational and NoSQL database platforms
  • Experience supporting enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, CIS/Billing, or asset management platforms
  • Experience with cloud-based enterprise platforms and hybrid technology environments
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
