Data Engineer

McCoy Group is seeking a Data Engineer in Dubuque, IA to build scalable pipelines and Microsoft Fabric warehouse solutions that support reporting, analytics, and AI-ready data.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines
• Connect and integrate data from databases, APIs, on-premises systems, and third-party platforms
• Build and optimize Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse and Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouse environments
• Support Power BI reporting and analytics, including AI initiatives
• Maintain secure, reliable, accurate, and properly governed data
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize pipeline performance
• Apply best practices for coding, documentation, version control, and deployment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (or similar cloud-based platforms)
• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data warehousing
• Experience with SQL, Python and/or Spark, Power BI, APIs, Git/DevOps, and data integration
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work with confidential information
• Ability to travel when needed

• Data engineering: 5 years (Required)
• Microsoft Fabric: 3 years (Required)
• Power BI: 3 years (Required)
• Data warehouse: 3 years (Preferred)
