Job Description
Arcfield offers a data engineering role based in Newport, RI with onsite work, where you will build and support automated scripts in Linux environments and help turn complex datasets into reliable systems. You will collaborate within a large, established, cross-discipline team, while applying your skills to unstructured and semi-structured data in support of networking-focused environments. This position also requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
What you’ll do
- Operate under general supervision to solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
- Work with complex data and networking systems while following strict organizational standards.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively as part of a large established cross-discipline team.
- Use Linux systems such as Ubuntu and RHEL, and apply the willingness to learn how to work with non-standard Unix-like operating systems (example environments include Dell OneFS, QTS, and Cisco IOS).
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automated scripts using programming and scripting languages including C/C++, Python, Bash, and Batch.
- Support the management of unstructured and semi-structured data as part of day-to-day data engineering activities.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 2–4 years of experience, or a Master’s with 0–2 years, or High School with 8–10 years.
- Experience working with unstructured and semi-structured data.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Comfort working across Linux environments and related technologies, including Ubuntu and RHEL.
- Familiarity with scripting and programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Bash, and Batch.

Compensation and benefits
Salary range: USD 75,447 - 131,188 per year.
