Data Engineer

Centurion Consulting Group supports federal, state, and local government clients, as well as public higher education institutions, with end-to-end Data and AI solutions. This role contributes to a defense intelligence mission by developing proofs of concept and minimum viable products, using NLP, generative AI, and agentic AI to help teams build capabilities that can mature and scale.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and apply GenAI and AgenticAI methods to solve complex, real-world problems
• Serve as an AI thought leader by producing whitepapers, presentations, executive briefings, reports, and other materials that support AI solutions and services
• Provide guidance to federal clients with high autonomy across AI strategy and development, including understanding agency needs, conducting exploratory data analysis, building and validating models, and deploying models to on-prem and cloud environments
• Act as a subject matter expert to GPS clients and the global AI partner ecosystem
• Iterate on and/or create repeatable, reusable processes and scalable data systems that address technical and deployment challenges
• Maintain data science best practices while evaluating new methodologies, technologies, industry trends, and open-source packages
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other scientists and data engineers, as well as the federal account manager and leadership, to support project delivery

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Active TS/SCI security clearance required
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
• 3+ years of experience in Python
• 3+ years executing data science methodologies using common programming or scripting languages
• Ability to work on-site in Tampa, FL 5 days per week

Helpful experience

• Prior professional services or consulting experience
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong breadth and depth across functional and technical AI and data science topics
• Experience presenting to clients or other decision makers to communicate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
