Job Description

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Data Engineer II for WW Pricing to design data models and ML data infrastructure powering pricing algorithms and related workflows. The role focuses on building data pipelines and GenAI-based solutions to improve operational efficiency, reporting, and the experiences of customers and sellers. This onsite position in Seattle offers a salary range of USD 132,100 to 178,800 per year.

Description

The architecture design and implementation of next generation data pipelines and BI solutions is central to this role. You will manage AWS resources including EC2, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, and Lambda, and you will build and deliver high quality data architectures and pipelines to support business analysts, data scientists, and customer reporting needs. Collaboration with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of sources is expected, along with continuous improvements to reporting and analysis processes to automate or simplify self-service support for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture design and implementation of next generation data pipelines and BI solutions
  • Manage AWS resources including EC2, RDS, Redshift, Kinesis, EMR, Lambda etc.
  • Build and deliver high quality data architecture and pipelines to support business analyst, data scientists, and customer reporting needs.
  • Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources
  • Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
  • Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
  • Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices
  • Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences
