The Data Scientist role at our fast-growing AI startup in Austin, Texas focuses on data harvesting, preprocessing, and building AI powered decision support systems. The position involves developing models and insights to help clients monitor and evaluate AI agents.
Job Overview
We are a fast-growing AI startup based in Austin, committed to delivering tools that provide visibility into whether AI agents are functioning as expected. Our platform offers operational health monitoring and quality evaluation for AI agents, delivering founders and technical teams real-time visibility into every run, trace, and output without heavy engineering overhead. The tech stack includes Python microservices, real-time trace ingestion via OpenTelemetry, orchestration of large language models across multiple providers, a credit-based evaluation engine, and integrations with LangChain, AWS Bedrock, and custom-built agents.
Responsibilities
- Identify valuable data sources and automate mining and collection processes.
- Preprocess structured and unstructured data.
- Analyze large volumes of data to discover and articulate trends and patterns.
- Build predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
- Combine models through ensemble modeling.
- Develop conclusive insights using statistical methods.
- Make and defend arguments supported by data and data-based insights.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or Data Engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, or Engineering.
- Working knowledge of multiple programming languages and statistical packages, plus familiarity with dataset tools and AI/ML tools.
- Critical thinker comfortable supporting collaborative problem solving in a team environment.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Upholds and leads by example with a defined standard of ethical, professional behavior.
