Job Description

Castalia Systems is seeking a Mid-Level Data Engineer to help transform client data into objective, decision-ready answers. In this onsite role at Bolling AFB, DC, you will work with analytical and data science capabilities to understand client questions and explore the data sources that sit behind them.

This position supports data-driven outcomes by combining the right tools and frameworks to connect disparate data into clear analysis. You will also develop a strong understanding of what the data represents and how it can be used to support informed decision-making.

Role overview

  • Develop algorithms and systems that use an appropriate mix of tools and frameworks to convert disparate data into objective answers for clients.
  • Build a deep understanding of the data, including what it means and how it can be applied to analysis.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience using statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis.
  • Experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources.
  • 1+ year of experience with R or Python.
  • Experience using scientific methods to inform qualitative and quantitative analyses.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with VS Code, GitHub, Jira, or Confluence.
  • Knowledge of DoD Intelligence processes, activities, standards, and analytic tools.
  • Experience with data gathering, cleansing, and parsing.
  • Ability to work in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or Data Science.
