Job Description

Data Engineer to design, implement, and maintain data sources and pipelines that empower decision making and foster trust with Amazon's sellers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and infrastructure to support analytics, reporting, and business operations.
  • Establish and enforce data modeling standards, data lineage, and governance programs to ensure consistency, reusability, and quality across platforms.
  • Oversee design and code reviews and promote engineering best practices across data development, documentation, testing, and monitoring.
  • Develop data platforms and frameworks that support both batch and real time processing for flexible, scalable analytics.
  • Deliver secure and compliant data solutions that meet internal and external regulatory requirements such as GDPR.
  • Assess and adopt emerging technologies to improve data platform performance, cost efficiency, and scalability.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to capture data requirements, define solution architectures, and align with business objectives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team hiring and onboarding processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of data engineering experience.
  • At least 1 year of building and operating large scale BI data structures using ETL/ELT processes.
  • At least 1 year of building and operating large scale BI data structures using OLAP technologies.
  • At least 1 year of building and operating large scale BI data structures using data modeling.
  • At least 1 year of building and operating large scale BI data structures using SQL.
  • At least 1 year of building and operating large scale BI data structures using Oracle.
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and constructing ETL pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
  • Experience with non-relational databases and data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, or column-family databases)
