Data Engineer, Worldwide Grocery Data & Analytics

Data Engineer on Amazon's Worldwide Grocery Data & Analytics team in Austin, TX (onsite) architect robust data infrastructures and build advanced pipelines, leveraging AWS resources to empower data-driven decision making across the business.

Responsibilities

• Help design and scale data platforms that support data-driven decision making.
• Apply software engineering best practices, data management fundamentals, storage principles, and advances in distributed systems.
• Manage and optimize cloud resource usage on AWS to sustain data infrastructure needs.
• Collaborate with Business Intelligence Engineers to establish best practices for data reporting, integrity, testing, validation, and documentation.
• Partner with Data Scientists to implement analytics algorithms that leverage rich data sets for statistical analysis, prediction, clustering, and machine learning.
• Drive architecture and technology decisions that deliver a world-class user experience.
• Develop deep knowledge of Amazon's data sources to determine appropriate data resources for each use case.
• Advocate next-generation data architecture strategies, proposing data flows and storage solutions.
• Thrive in ambiguity, rapidly building proofs of concept, iterating, and improving data-driven solutions.
• Create extensible designs and maintainable solutions with a long-term vision.
• Maintain alignment with business objectives and seek to deliver measurable value through your work.

Requirements

• 3+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
