Warner Music Group is hiring a Data Scientist to support the Strategic Finance team by partnering across Central Functions and Recorded Music & Music Publishing. This role focuses on analytical rigor, quantitative modeling, and AI-enabled examination and visualization to deliver actionable insights on trends, marketing impact, and user behavior.

Role Summary
Within the Strategic Finance group, the Data Scientist works with departments across Warner Music to strengthen decision-making through data analysis and modeling. The position combines advanced quantitative methods with AI-enabled tools to study business trends, forecast outcomes, and help stakeholders understand drivers of performance and consumption.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end data analysis initiatives, including revenue forecasting and subscriber consumption, digital advertising forecasts, global trends analysis, business performance trends, and other strategic topics.
- Apply advanced quantitative modeling and data examination methods to solve complex business challenges.
- Develop and maintain production-level models with attention to accuracy and efficiency.
- Partner with Strategy, Corporate Finance, and business operators to clarify requirements and deliver actionable insights for a diverse audience.
- Identify opportunities where data science can add new value through experimentation with hypotheses and techniques to improve existing BI processes and methods.
- Use AI, advanced tools, and frameworks to support data examination, modeling, and visualization.
- Support continuous learning through feedback, knowledge sharing, and mentoring more junior team members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of full-time post-graduation experience applying econometric and statistical methods in a business setting, preferably in music, entertainment, or digital media.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing macroeconomic and industry-level data from trusted third-party sources such as the UN, IMF, OECD, and World Bank.
- Proven ability to independently manage and deliver analytical projects involving rigorous statistical and econometric analysis.
- Evidence of leading and executing data science projects with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in programming languages including Python or R for analysis and model development.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and statistical tools.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Expertise in foundational data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling techniques.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies quickly.
- Strong communication skills, including translating complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, action-oriented approach.
