Data Scientist - Client Platform

Discord is seeking a Data Scientist to join its Client Platform Data Science team in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role supports improvements to mobile and desktop reliability and user experience through analytics, experimentation, instrumentation, and monitoring.

Role Focus

You will work on analytics and experimentation that help Discord make product changes with measurable impact. The position emphasizes building dashboards and diagnostic metrics, creating custom datasets for new product areas, and partnering across teams to ensure instrumentation and tooling are scalable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams across Discord across the analytics lifecycle, including exploratory analysis, dashboards, reports, and A/B testing
• Define KPIs and diagnostic metrics tied to user experience, and build dashboards that deliver timely, actionable insights
• Create custom datasets to track novel product features and evolving processes
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences and iterate based on feedback
• Support A/B testing best practices, including experiment design, analysis, and interpretation
• Partner with data and engineering teams to design instrumentation and self-serve tooling that are scalable and future-proof

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on analytics experience translating ambiguous business problems into clear, actionable insights
• Experience designing, analyzing, and interpreting A/B tests at scale
• Strong SQL skills and experience creating clean, high-performance dashboards (Tableau, Looker, or similar)
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain complex results in an understandable way
• Curiosity, collaboration, and a drive to solve challenging problems

Compensation

This full-time position offers a US base salary range of $160,000 to $200,000 plus equity and benefits. Compensation details in US postings reflect base salary only and do not include equity or benefits.
