Data Scientist - TikTok Local Services

Join TikTok Local Services in San Jose, CA onsite to help power data-driven growth. This Data Scientist role focuses on building and operating the data infrastructure behind local services, using rigorous analysis to understand how online and offline activities influence transaction conversion. You will partner closely with business teams by translating operational signals into actionable insights, while monitoring performance and recommending optimizations.

What you’ll do

• Build and improve operational data infrastructure for local services, covering online and offline activities, video-to-merchant matching, transaction flows, search and recommendation modules, traffic monitoring, and supply monitoring.
• Maintain data accuracy and ensure data outputs align with key business scenarios.
• Study the relationship between operational activities and transaction conversion rates, scientifically estimating each activity’s contribution to conversion improvements across different industries.
• Continuously monitor key metrics, diagnose causes of metric movement, and propose optimization and improvement opportunities.
• Strengthen communication with business partners by producing regular analysis reports and helping identify potential growth opportunities.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in a data science related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data science or a related data science field.
• Background in data-related areas such as statistics, computer science, business analytics, or quantitative analysis.
• Strong curiosity and the ability to proactively understand business needs, quickly grasp business logic, and translate it into data-driven problems.

Compensation and benefits

Base salary range: $179,200 - $277,200 annually (San Jose). Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.

This role may also be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units. Total compensation includes base pay, and eligibility for equity and incentives may vary. Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and country work location.
