Join Amazon as a Data Scientist II on the Rapid & Rural Logistics (R2L) Analytics team in Bellevue, WA, onsite. The position carries a salary range of USD 136,000 to 184,000 per year and benefits including Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage; Maternity and Parental Leave Options; Paid Time Off; and a 401(k) Plan. You will contribute to delivering ultra-fast customer experiences and help optimize supply chain costs while collaborating with product managers, engineers, and leadership.

Role overview

As a Data Scientist II on the R2L Analytics team, you will develop and evaluate statistics and machine learning models to tackle complex business problems. You will work with product managers, engineers, other scientists, and leadership to improve customer experience and reduce supply chain costs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, other scientists, and leadership to identify and prioritize complex problems.
  • Interview stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate problems into data science or analytical initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and evaluate innovative statistics and machine learning models.
  • Lead scalable, efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analyses, model development, validation, and implementation.
  • Identify business opportunities and insights, delivering solutions that shape key processes and policies based on broad knowledge of Amazon data and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), or experience working in STEM fields.
  • 2+ years of data scientist experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with data querying languages (SQL), scripting languages (Python), or statistical/mathematical software (R, SAS, MATLAB, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience with machine learning or statistical modeling tools and techniques, including performance-related parameters.
  • 1+ years of experience working with or evaluating AI systems.
  • Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment.
  • Experience communicating complex concepts effectively in written and verbal form.
