The Forward Deployed AI Engineer role at Boston Consulting Group (BCG X) sits at the intersection of engineering and client impact. You will build next-generation AI solutions end to end, then collaborate across BCG regions and industries to design, develop, and deploy capabilities that clients can adopt and expand.

Working as part of BCG X’s growing engineering organization, this position also emphasizes direct client collaboration, scientific communication, and thought leadership across AI topics.

What you’ll do

Own the full analytics value chain end to end, including framing business challenges, designing innovative algorithms, implementing and deploying scalable solutions, and enabling colleagues and clients to embrace AI.
Contribute to building the next generation of AI solutions as part of BCG X’s engineering team.
Partner with clients across multiple BCG regions and industries, including work on topics such as climate change, to design, build, and deploy new AI solutions.
Develop and deliver thought leadership in scientific communities and publications.
Lead conferences on behalf of BCG X.
Interact directly with clients on new features for future product releases.

Requirements

Use software development practices and standards to build robust, maintainable software.
Participate actively across the software development life cycle.
Have experience guiding non-technical teams and consultants with best practices for robust software development.
Optimize and enhance computational efficiency through algorithm and software design.
Be motivated by a fast-paced, service-oriented environment with direct client interactions around future product features.

Forward Deployed AI Engineer I: $120,000 USD
Forward Deployed AI Engineer II: $155,000 USD
Forward Deployed AI Engineer III: $171,000 USD
Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer: $200,000 USD
