IT Data Engineer IV

Scope Services is seeking an IT Data Engineer IV to join its on-site team in Westborough, MA. This role centers on managing the Gas SCADA environment and related RTU hardware and software, including RTU programming and AVEVA Enterprise SCADA 2023 screens. The position combines hands-on SCADA operations with support for capital projects from initial design through commissioning to ensure reliable, ongoing performance.

Location: Westborough, MA (onsite). Hourly: USD 65 - 75.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and enhance the SCADA system software and field RTU software to ensure reliable operation.
• Research, design and implement enhancements to improve SCADA performance and functionality.
• Define and maintain SCADA data structures and definitions for Aveva Enterprise 2023.
• Develop operational SCADA pages, generate system reports, and manage historical and real-time data stores.
• Plan and execute the installation of new and upgraded field RTUs and related telecommunications.
• Manage remote communication links including leased lines, cellular modems, radio networks, and fiber optic connections.
• Collaborate with IT Networking and Security to maintain a secure and dependable Gas SCADA network.
• Provide reports and operational data to multiple departments and agencies as needed.
• Deliver training and foster user involvement in system development and innovation.
• Design and implement RTU programming to support field projects.
• Develop screens for AVEVA Enterprise SCADA 2023.
• Troubleshoot SCADA issues to keep Gas operations running uninterrupted.
• Evaluate and integrate the latest gas monitoring equipment and telecommunications options.
• Support company capital projects requiring SCADA involvement through the full lifecycle until commissioning.
