Lead Analytics Engineer
Job Description
EasyPay Finance is seeking a Lead Analytics Engineer to consolidate analytics into a single SQL Server database alongside its lending systems. This hands-on role owns the end-to-end platform, from data ingestion and governed modeling to KPI definitions and daily production reporting, while leading one analyst to improve quality.
Based in Vista, CA (hybrid), the position supports reliable operations, reusable analytics assets, and practical reporting that business teams can depend on.
What you will do
- Run the analytics database and its scheduled jobs, ensuring they are reliable, monitored, and documented.
- Ingest new data sources through vendor APIs (including CRM, contact center, and lending platforms) using incremental and restartable loads.
- Model raw data into trusted tables and views for downstream reporting.
- Build operational reporting that is correct every day, including call lists, merchant partner reporting, and management reports.
- Own the data dictionary and KPI definitions in partnership with business owners.
- Lead one analyst, setting direction and raising the bar on data quality.
What you bring
- 5+ years running production data pipelines and reporting.
- Strong SQL Server skills, including window functions, deduplication, and performance work on large tables.
- Experience with Python for API extraction and pipeline development.
- Proficiency operating scheduled jobs with logging, alerting, and quality checks.
- Track record publishing data to a BI tool and supporting users.
- Comfort working with Git.

- Learn the business and current platform.

Preferred qualifications
- Consumer lending or financial services experience.
- Experience with Salesforce or Genesys Cloud Data.
- Familiarity with Tableau, Metabase, ThoughtSpot, Omni, or similar BI platforms.
- Experience with dbt, Azure SQL, or AI/LLM tooling on data.
Compensation
Compensation is based on work location. For Vista, CA (hybrid), the salary range is USD 135,000 - 180,000 per year. Individual offers within the applicable range depend on job-related factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
- San Diego (onsite/hybrid): $150,000–$180,000 base per year
- Remote (outside California): $135k–$160k base per year (set by the labor market for the candidate’s location)
