Machine Learning Engineer

Zoom is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer in Seattle, WA (hybrid) to build and optimize GenAI and scalable ML systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize GenAI algorithms, techniques, and solutions for complex business challenges
• Work with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into scalable engineering solutions aligned with business objectives
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical presentations to support quality and reliability
• Find improvement opportunities in existing systems and propose innovative approaches to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability
• Stay current with new GenAI research and engineering developments to advance technical capabilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (or related field, or foreign equivalent)
• 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation
• 3 years of experience with:
  • Using one or more programming languages such as Python, C, C++, or CUDA to build scalable software systems
  • Deep learning frameworks including PyTorch and TensorFlow
  • Presenting academic or personal AI projects
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to present technical concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Agentic AI, including LLM-driven AI agents and agentic RAG
  • Building scalable, maintainable, and production-ready machine learning systems
  • Analyzing data and troubleshooting issues related to deployed AI systems
• Hybrid work arrangement: telecommuting permitted one day per week; four days in office
• Position does not require domestic or international travel

Salary

• $183,600 to $275,400 per year
• Zoom uses a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that considers base salary, bonus, and equity value
• Starting pay is based on factors including qualifications and experience
• Location-based compensation structure may apply; ranges may differ by location
