Machine Learning Engineer

Point72 is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer for its High Frequency Trading Technology team in New York, NY. In this role, you will apply AI technologies to practical, real-world problems while also supporting the balance between production operations and AI research workflows.

What you’ll do

• Apply the latest AI technologies to solve real-world problems and streamline day-to-day operations.
• Build a production support AI agent to help monitor production problems and suggest actions.
• Partner with the AI research group on initiatives such as creating synthetic data for training.
• Use MCP agents to streamline the research workflow.

Who you are

• Hold a PhD or be a PhD candidate in machine learning, computer science, or another AI related research field.
• Have experience with sequential modeling and time series forecasting using deep learning.
• Have experience with deep neural networks and representation learning.
• Have prior experience in a data-driven research environment.
• Be able to translate mathematical models and algorithms into code.
• Be proficient in Python and R.
• Have experience with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Agent or Context engineering experience is strongly preferred.
• Natural language processing technology experience is strongly preferred.
• Bring excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Work collaboratively with strong independent research ability.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Maintain a commitment to the highest ethical standards.
