Python AI Engineer - Assistant Vice President

Citi is seeking a Python/Generative AI developer to design, develop, and deploy advanced Generative AI models and applications, including sophisticated chat interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement Generative AI models (LLMs, GANs, VAEs, Diffusion Models) using Python and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch
• Integrate Generative AI capabilities into existing systems and build new AI-powered applications
• Build and maintain dynamic, responsive chat interfaces using React, including:
  • HTTP streaming for real-time updates
  • Asynchronous processing to support user experience
  • Secure file upload capabilities
  • Advanced chat formatting
• Conduct research and stay current with advancements in Generative AI, natural language processing, and machine learning
• Optimize and fine-tune models for performance, scalability, and efficiency
• Develop robust data pipelines for training, evaluation, and deployment of AI models
• Collaborate with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and product managers to define requirements and deliver solutions
• Ensure responsible and ethical AI model deployment by following best practices and applicable regulatory guidelines
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code aligned with software development best practices
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and provide technical guidance
• Troubleshoot and debug AI models and applications, including identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks

Requirements

• 5-8 years of professional software development experience, with strong focus on Python
• Proven experience with Generative AI models, including hands-on work with large language models (LLMs) or other generative architectures
• Experience with Google ADK or similar Google AI/ML platforms and SDKs
• Understanding of deep learning frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX
• Strong front-end development skills, particularly React, for building interactive user interfaces
• Demonstrable chat implementation experience, including:
  • HTTP streaming
  • Asynchronous operations
  • File upload management
  • Chat formatting techniques
• Solid understanding of machine learning principles, algorithms, and data structures
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps practices for deploying and managing AI models
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
