QuickSight Analytics Engineer

Deloitte is seeking a Data Engineer II to design, build, deploy, and maintain reporting and dashboard solutions powered by Amazon QuickSight. The role combines hands-on QuickSight delivery with Python capabilities across the BI reporting lifecycle.

Role Scope

In this position, you will analyze client reporting and data environments, translate requirements into scalable analytics assets, and develop interactive dashboards and visualizations. You will also use Python to support data preparation and reporting automation, while contributing to the integration and modeling of data from multiple sources for reliable analytics datasets.

Responsibilities

• Review the client’s existing data environment, reporting processes, and Python code to understand current capabilities, constraints, and improvement opportunities.
• Collect and translate business and technical requirements into dashboards, reports, data models, and reporting solutions designed for scalability.
• Design, build, and implement interactive dashboards and visualizations using Amazon QuickSight.
• Create reporting logic including calculations, metrics, filters, parameters, and business rules to support accurate, actionable insights.
• Use Python to analyze client data, evaluate existing code, support data preparation, and automate or enhance reporting processes where appropriate.
• Integrate, transform, and model data from multiple sources to build trustworthy datasets for analytics and reporting.
• Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of data-driven reporting and dashboard solutions that enable informed client decision-making.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of Python experience, including the ability to analyze the client environment, review and understand Python code, support data preparation, and develop automation or reporting enhancements.
• 1+ year designing, developing, and implementing interactive dashboards and visualizations using Amazon QuickSight.
• 1+ year gathering, documenting, and translating business and technical requirements into dashboards, reports, data models, and scalable analytics solutions.
• Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on work performed and client needs and industries/sectors served.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience developing reporting logic, calculated fields, metrics, filters, parameters, controls, and business rules for accurate and actionable reporting.
• Experience integrating, transforming, and modeling data from multiple sources to create reliable, reusable datasets for analytics and reporting.
• Ability to assess existing reporting processes and technical solutions, identify gaps and constraints, and recommend practical improvements.
• Willingness and ability to support substantial build and implementation work, followed by ongoing operations, maintenance, and enhancement activities.

Compensation and Location

Location: Washington, DC (onsite). Salary: USD 84,400 - 140,600 per yearly.

Maryland note: For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Maryland, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $84,400 to $140,600.
