In Philadelphia on site, Deloitte's Government & Public Services practice is seeking a Generative AI Data Engineer III to design, build, test, and deploy machine learning and AI solutions for business and client use. This role centers on creating robust data pipelines and production-grade components, analyzing data to extract insights, and monitoring performance while collaborating with engineers, data scientists, product stakeholders, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions. The position offers a salary range of USD 131,000 to 218,300 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions for business and client use cases
- Develop and maintain data pipelines, model training workflows, and production-ready application components that support AI enabled products
- Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify patterns, generate insights, and support model development and validation
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, product stakeholders, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Monitor model and application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to improve accuracy, reliability, and scalability
Qualifications - Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
- At least five years of professional experience
- Three or more years designing, developing, or deploying machine learning, artificial intelligence, or advanced analytics solutions
- Three or more years programming in Python, PySpark, PyTorch, and TensorFlow
- Three or more years developing algorithms, model selection, training/validation/optimization, and evaluation at scale
- At least one year of technology consulting experience in the Federal Health space
- At least one year working with AI technologies such as Gemini, Anthropic, or OpenAI
- Active or advanced certifications in Python, PySpark, PyTorch, and TensorFlow
- Ability to travel about 20% on average, depending on project and client needs
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
- Active U.S. government security clearance
- Two or more years deploying machine learning models into production environments
- Two or more years of experience with large language models, natural language processing, or generative artificial intelligence solutions
- Two or more years using containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
- One or more years supporting model monitoring, governance, or machine learning operations processes
