Research Associate / Crime Data Analyst
Job Description
The Research Associate / Crime Data Analyst role at Liability Consultants, Inc. supports civil liability case work by collecting and analyzing crime-related information and translating it into clear summaries, visualizations, and maps. This position is based onsite in Hudson, MA and involves ongoing research management and case-work status tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze crime data from multiple sources, including law enforcement reports, public records, and law enforcement databases from departments across the United States.
- Develop crime summaries that analyze trends as well as the time and location of incidents.
- Create charts and graphs based on crime data to support case-related reporting.
- Produce geographical maps related to the collected crime data.
- Review incident reports and security logs as part of research activities.
- Conduct research using internet sources, general articles, books, and proprietary databases for reports supporting civil liability cases involving claims of inadequate security, negligent hiring, and workplace violence.
- Maintain a research and resource database and library to organize ongoing case materials.
- Maintain ongoing status of case work.
- Record all time and tasks performed.
- Complete other projects as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Well-developed computer skills, with emphasis on Excel and MS Word.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
- Strong time management.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills, including both written and verbal communication.
- Basic knowledge of Criminal Justice and crime terms is preferred, but not required.
