Senior Analytics Engineer, People Data

The Senior Analytics Engineer on Anduril's People Data & Analytics team will design and maintain data infrastructure, models, and pipelines to enable analytics-ready HR datasets and data-driven decision making. This onsite role in Boston, MA offers a salary range of USD 166,000 to 220,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and optimize end-to end ETL and ELT pipelines to ingest, integrate, and transform diverse people data from HR systems such as HRIS, ATS, and LMS into the data platform.
• Design, maintain, and govern scalable and secure data models, schemas, and ontologies for people analytics, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessible downstream consumption.
• Contribute to the strategic design and evolution of the people data platform and tooling, promoting engineering best practices, automation, and a scalable analytics ecosystem (examples include SQLMesh, Iceberg, Flyte).
• Collaborate with People Analysts, HR Business Partners, and other stakeholders to translate analytical needs into robust, well-structured, documented data solutions.
• Implement and monitor data quality checks, diagnose discrepancies, troubleshoot data issues, and safeguard data reliability across systems.
• Monitor the performance of pipelines and models, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to ensure efficiency and scalability of the data infrastructure.
• Document data pipelines, models, and processes comprehensively and advocate for data engineering best practices such as version control, testing, and CI/CD within the team.
• Enforce strict data security measures and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to employee privacy (eg GDPR, CCPA).
• Work with broader enterprise analytics and data engineering teams to align on data architecture standards, integrate people data with other domains, and contribute to the evolution of the data platform.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or a similar role focused on building and optimizing data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Expert-level SQL proficiency for complex data manipulation and advanced Python for scripting, data processing, and automation.
• Extensive experience with cloud based data warehousing solutions (Snowflake, Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, Databricks/Delta Lake) and data lake technologies (AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Storage).
• Deep understanding of designing and maintaining robust data models (dimensional modeling, Kimball) for analytics.
• Hands-on experience building and optimizing ETL/ELT processes using modern tools such as dbt, Apache Airflow, Flyte, Dagster, or similar orchestration platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non technical stakeholders and collaborate across diverse teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong technical foundation in data engineering, with expertise in SQL, Python, and experience with cloud based data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
