Job Description
Senior Applied AI Engineer at Amigo in New York, NY (onsite) with a salary range of USD 200,000 to 260,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Lead an AI deployment for a major healthcare customer from initial discussions to production rollout.
- Convert ambiguous customer needs into a clear technical plan with defined owners and timelines.
- Make tradeoff decisions on what to build now, what to reuse, and when to push back on scope.
- Work directly with customers to keep scope, timelines, and quality aligned.
Requirements
- Ability to break hard, ambiguous problems into work that other engineers can own and deliver.
- Hands-on experience with large language models and agent systems, or the ability to gain proficiency quickly.
- Judgment to make tradeoffs and the stature to decline efforts that do not hold up.
- Proven leadership across architecture, people management, or both.
- Low ego, direct communication, and a commitment to high standards for self and team.
- On-site work capability in New York City or San Francisco.
