Senior AI Engineer
Job Description
Senior AI Engineer (onsite) in Rogers, MN building and leading secure, scalable AI solutions with measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of AI-based solutions, including intelligent applications and AI agents.
- Provide technical guidance across AI initiatives by setting solution architecture, development standards, best practices, and implementation approaches.
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define use cases, translate requirements into scalable AI solutions, and support successful delivery.
- Collaborate with the Data and Analytics team to identify, prepare, and operationalize data needed to support AI models and intelligent workflows.
- Work with the IT Infrastructure team to ensure AI solutions run in reliable, scalable, and maintainable environments.
- Coordinate with the Security team to support monitoring, governance, and control mechanisms for AI solutions, including controls for AI agents, model behavior, access, and data protection.
- Support requirements gathering and solution alignment with the requirements management team and cross-functional subject matter experts.
- Evaluate and integrate tools, frameworks, and cloud capabilities to improve AI performance, maintainability, and security.
- Collaborate with specialized technology partners to accelerate delivery, validate architecture decisions, and implement best practices.
- Document solution designs, technical decisions, and operational support guidance for AI implementations.
- Stay current on emerging AI technologies, engineering practices, and governance considerations; recommend practical improvements.
- Act as a liaison between IT and business teams to ensure solutions support business needs.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to business stakeholders regarding system capabilities and best practices.
- Participate in cross-departmental initiatives involving system design, development, or data integration.
- Assist in maintaining system documentation, integration documentation, and technical standards as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 7+ years of software development, process automation, data engineering, or related technical experience.
- 3+ years developing and implementing AI-based solutions deployed and used in production environments.
- Strong software development experience to design, build, test, and support robust technical solutions.
- Experience with AI/ML, generative AI, natural language processing, or intelligent automation solutions.
- Experience monitoring, conducting due diligence, and recommending advanced technologies aligned with strategic plans and the technology roadmap.
- Ability to lead technical workstreams and collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholder groups.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience developing and supporting API-based integrations (SOAP and REST).
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving technology environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with Microsoft Synapse and/or Fabric analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with Microsoft collaboration and productivity tools including Teams and SharePoint.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Experience with SQL development.

Work Environment
- Primarily a typical office environment; occasional jobsite travel required.
- Jobsite visits may involve uneven terrain, stairs or ladders, variable weather, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
- Required PPE must be worn as directed, including a hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, gloves, hearing protection, and safety-toe footwear.
- Employee frequently works alone and with others.
Base Compensation
- $116,000 - $157,500 base salary range (may vary by geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience).
