Responsibilities
- Design and implement data pipeline architecture and processes spanning sourcing, transformation, and extraction to enable seamless analytics integration.
- Apply expert SQL and Python to manage, query, and transform structured data in relational databases for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Automate and manage robust data pipelines and workflows using software engineering best practices, including modular design, version control, and testing frameworks.
- Map data between source systems, data warehouses, and data marts to align with business requirements and ensure consistency across analytical workflows.
- Build and maintain data models that enhance efficiency and support complex business analytics and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Leverage cloud platforms such as AWS and big data frameworks like Redshift to create secure, high‑performing data engineering solutions for large‑scale analytics.
- Develop and enforce standards for development, testing, and documentation, including data flow maps to support transparency and maintainability.
- Conduct thorough quality assurance, including code reviews, test plan development, and rigorous validation to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Provide troubleshooting support for pipelines and workflows, focusing on performance, data integrity, and availability to meet evolving analytics needs.
- Foster strong partnerships with IT to advance tooling, data strategy, integrations, and deployments.
- Stay current with analytics engineering trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to improve the stack.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field (foreign education equivalent accepted) plus three (3) years of experience as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer supporting data science and analytics through data engineering, pipeline development, and cross‑functional collaboration across data, IT, and business teams.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Analytics or related field (foreign education equivalent accepted) plus five (5) years of relevant experience as described above.
- Experience must include advanced SQL and Python for querying and managing structured data in relational database systems (RDBMS).
- Designing and implementing data models to enhance efficiency, performance, and analytics capabilities.
- Automating and orchestrating SQL workflows using established software engineering practices, including CI/CD and version control.
- Developing standards and practices for scalable data and analytics engineering.
- Utilizing big data platforms including Redshift for efficient large‑scale data processing and analysis.
- Building and deploying scalable data engineering solutions in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- Conducting comprehensive QA processes including code reviews, test plan development, and rigorous validation to ensure data accuracy.
- Hybrid work arrangement — 3 days in office, 2 days remote.

Compensation and work arrangement
Salary range: USD 144,400.00 – 171,500.00 per year.
Location and schedule: New York, NY; Hybrid work arrangement with 3 days in office and 2 days remote.
Pay transparency: Overtime eligible: Exempt; Discretionary bonus eligible: No; Sales bonus eligible: No. The actual base salary will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Employees may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and potentially participate in an incentive program.
