Job Description
New York, NY (onsite) Senior Associate role focused on embedding Generative AI into core business processes for Capital One’s Commercial Bank Applied AI team.
Responsibilities
- Partner with a cross-functional group of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and product managers to deliver Generative AI solutions for customers
- Build multi-agent systems and advanced RAG pipelines over large-scale numeric and textual data
- Apply a broad technology stack including Python, PyTorch, LangChain, AWS, Spark, and vector databases
- Develop Generative AI models and pipelines across the full lifecycle: context engineering, fine-tuning, evaluation, validation, and deployment
- Communicate technical complexity into clear, tangible business goals using strong interpersonal skills
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related) plus 2 years performing data analytics
- Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration
- OR a Master’s in a “STEM” field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics), or a PhD in a “STEM” field
- At least 2 years experience with Python, Scala, or R
- At least 2 years experience with machine learning
- At least 2 years experience with SQL
- At least 1 year experience in AI, Information Retrieval, Deep Learning, or NLP
- Innovative: continuously research and evaluate emerging technologies and stay current on state-of-the-art methods, technologies, and applications
- Creative: comfortable defining solutions for big, undefined problems; asks questions and shares new ideas
- Technical: hands-on experience using open-source tools and cloud computing platforms to develop data science solutions
- Statistically-minded: experience building, validating, and backtesting models; ability to interpret confusion matrices or ROC curves; exposure to clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, time series, and deep learning
