Senior Data Engineer
Job Description
The Senior Data Engineer will join Walmart's Global Data Foundation team in a fully onsite capacity at Bentonville, Arkansas. The role commands a salary range of USD 90,000 to 234,000 per year and centers on building end-to-end data solutions that inform critical business decisions and scale product experiences. The responsibilities include designing and implementing data ingestion pipelines, transformation workflows, and consumption-layer data products while integrating diverse technologies to deliver cohesive, high-quality data assets.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
- Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related field.
- Option 3: Master’s degree in Computer Science and 1 year’s experience in software engineering or related field.
- 2 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.

About the Customer Area
The Customer Area Tech team focuses on delivering world-class products, enforcing policy compliance, forming strategic partnerships, and building scalable data pipelines and self-service tools. The team implements Global Privacy Technology Products to earn customer and associate trust and analyzes customer data to uncover insights that inform business decisions and improve customer experiences across retail operations. Advanced data science techniques and tools are used to understand customer behavior and trends at scale.
Minimum Qualifications
- Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
- Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related field.
- Option 3: Master’s degree in Computer Science and 1 year’s experience in software engineering or related field.
- 2 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics, with ETL tools and handling large data sets in the cloud.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least 3 years of software engineering experience.
- Candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and accessible product integration.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices and involvement in building accessible products and services aligned with Walmart’s accessibility standards and inclusive culture.
