The Senior Data Engineer at First American Title Insurance Co designs and delivers big data platform solutions that enable advanced analytics and dependable data processing. This hybrid role in Fort Mill, SC focuses on scalable internal systems, high-quality data delivery architecture, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to resolve data initiatives and issues.

Responsibilities

Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual work, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.
Design, develop, code, test, and document architectures and applications to support advanced analytics and data processing needs.
Partner with team members and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure design, architecture, and deliverables align with business requirements and best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of data issues impacting platform reliability and data flow.
Provide innovative recommendations to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
Perform duties outside of normal work hours as required by business needs.
Act as a data expert who drives innovation and supports highly visible initiatives with broad impact across the department.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 to 8 years of directly related experience.
Experience working in Agile SDLC methodology.
Strong SQL and T-SQL programming skills.
Hands-on experience building data and ETL pipelines and data warehouse solutions.
Demonstrated expertise in data modeling, database maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning for SQL Server, MongoDB, or other NoSQL databases.
Exceptional analytical ability when analyzing large and complex data sets.
Ability to perform thorough testing and data validation to ensure accuracy of data transformations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including precise documentation practices.
Self-driven team orientation with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Analytical and creative thinking with an innovative problem-solving approach.
Working knowledge of modern cloud computing technology.
