Job Description
APR Supply Co. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, governance, and implementation of the Microsoft Fabric platform. The role carries executive sponsorship and centers on governance, security, and AI enabled analytics.
Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy a production ready Microsoft Fabric platform covering OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Dataflows Gen2, Spark Notebooks, and Pipelines
- Establish and govern a Medallion data layer (Bronze, Silver, Gold) with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability
- Oversee data ingestion from ERP, CRM, HRIS, ecommerce, vendor feeds, files, and APIs
- Define and enforce enterprise data governance policies within the Fabric environment
- Implement Microsoft Purview for data lineage and impact analysis
- Apply Purview for sensitivity labeling and data classification
- Use Purview to support data discovery and cataloging efforts
- Define and manage security models, including OneLake permissions, workspace design, and Power BI semantic model security
- Collaborate with IT, Security, and Compliance to ensure data is trusted, auditable, and policy-aligned
- Design Power BI semantic models aligned to governed Gold layer data
- Develop and review high performance datasets, DAX measures, and reporting patterns
- Enable secure self service analytics while maintaining governance standards
- Prepare Fabric data for AI driven use cases and Copilot style scenarios, including RAG patterns
- Integrate structured and unstructured data such as documents, text, images, and video into the governed Fabric ecosystem
- Collaborate on AI driven enrichment and search use cases
- Act as the Fabric authority across the organization, establishing standards and best practices
- Mentor analysts and engineers working within Fabric
- Communicate clearly with executives and technical teams
Requirements
- Microsoft Fabric DP-600 certification (Fabric Analytics Engineer)
- Microsoft Fabric DP-700 certification (Fabric Data Engineer)
- 5+ years designing and supporting enterprise data platforms
- Direct, hands on production experience with Microsoft Fabric
- Proven experience in designing data governance frameworks
- Strong hands on experience with Microsoft Purview
- Deep understanding of Lakehouse and Medallion architecture
- Strong skills in Power BI, SQL, and Python
