Senior HR Data Analyst
Job Description
CAI is seeking a Senior HR Data Analyst (contract, remote) to support complex HR reporting, data analytics, dashboard development, and reporting automation. The role focuses on replacing manual processes with data-driven solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain existing HR reporting and analyze, manipulate, and format complex datasets using advanced Microsoft Excel features, including formulas, pivot tables, macros, conditional formatting, filters, and related tools
- Transform and optimize Excel-based reporting workflows by identifying opportunities to simplify and automate manual processes
- Apply advanced Excel capabilities, AI, automation tools, and emerging technologies to reduce manual effort, reporting complexity, and report production time
- Build dashboards, metrics, and data visualizations to give business leaders visibility into trends and key insights
- Use Power BI, Excel, and other reporting and visualization tools to convert complex information into clear, understandable outputs
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and sustainability of current reporting and business processes
- Create and keep process documentation that explains existing reporting workflows and step-by-step procedures
- Update documentation as workflows are optimized and automated to maintain accurate, standardized, and sustainable operations
- Work independently in a project-based environment, manage multiple priorities, and proactively identify and implement solutions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems/MIS, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline
- 8+ years of related professional experience in data analytics, advanced reporting, reporting automation, and process improvement
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros, conditional formatting, data manipulation, and tools for analyzing and automating complex reporting
- Experience developing dashboards, metrics, and data visualizations using Power BI, Excel, or similar tools
- Experience using AI, automation tools, or other emerging technologies to improve data analysis, reporting, or business processes
- Demonstrated ability to simplify and automate manual reporting processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and sustainability
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights for business leaders
- Experience working with complex datasets and reporting processes
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity
- Ability to understand complex workflows and produce clear, detailed process documentation and step-by-step instructions
- Ability to work independently in a project-based environment, manage multiple priorities, and proactively implement solutions
