Job Description

Motion Recruitment seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to turn applied AI into secure, scalable production capabilities for a hybrid role in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a hands-on engineer across design, implementation, testing, and delivery
  • Develop AI-powered features for research, summarization, discovery, and knowledge-based decision making
  • Architect distributed machine learning services that operate reliably across a large enterprise product ecosystem
  • Build and integrate retrieval pipelines, model services, agent frameworks, and supporting APIs
  • Collaborate with application, platform, data, and security teams to meet needs for performance, resilience, privacy, and scale

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success delivering machine learning or artificial intelligence systems in production environments
  • Practical experience building applications that use LLMs, AI agents, and tool-driven workflows
  • Working knowledge of RAG patterns, embedding models, vector stores, and relevance-focused retrieval
  • Familiarity with operational ML including testing, deployment automation, observability, and model governance
  • Strong Python skills and sound software engineering fundamentals
  • Experience delivering cloud-native solutions on AWS and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes

Preferred Background

  • Experience in legal technology, enterprise search, publishing, compliance, or another information-dense product domain
  • At least 12 years of software development experience, or 8+ years plus a PhD

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, machine learning, engineering, or a closely related field

Work Authorization

  • Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States both now and in the future

Work model: Hybrid schedule based in Worcester, Massachusetts.
