Senior Machine Learning Engineer, GAI Search Relevance

ServiceNow is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to enhance the relevance of its enterprise search and question‑answering platform. You will partner with product, UX, and engineering teams to shape ranking features, design experiments, and measure their impact on search quality. This onsite role is based in Mountain View, California, with a salary range of USD 161,300 - 274,200 per year.

Responsibilities

• Design new ranking features and refine existing ones to lift relevance metrics
• Build an algorithmic framework that supports a diverse set of ranking features
• Architect the platform and tooling that enables parallel ranking experiments
• Create metrics to evaluate how ranking performs

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with traditional information retrieval techniques or machine learning based ranking models
• Ability to derive insights from query log analysis and identify opportunities to improve search quality
• Background in text processing, information retrieval, natural language understanding, or machine learning
