Senior Technical Product Owner - Analytics
Job Description
Own analytics and data product execution end-to-end by partnering with business and engineering to turn MDVIP data assets into measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Build deep product knowledge across business and technical perspectives by understanding doctor and patient personas, value proposition, competitive landscape, business workflows, and the underlying data assets, architecture, and technical components.
- Own the product backlog and requirements for assigned analytics/data products; collaborate with business partners in marketing, operations, sales, and member services to convert goals into clear user stories, technical requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Design conceptual data models that translate business questions into a shared, well-structured view of MDVIP data by defining entities, relationships, metrics, and definitions, and partner with data architects and data engineers to implement physical models.
- Demonstrate mastery of data throughout delivery by querying and analyzing data using SQL and Python to size opportunities, prioritize the backlog, measure ROI on shipped features, and produce reporting that ties roadmap delivery to business outcomes and quantifies next improvements.
- Run and support agile delivery by facilitating scrum, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and reviews, ensuring clarity and alignment across business and engineering, including when requirements are ambiguous or evolving.
- Define and own success metrics for every product and feature: establish baselines with business partners before launch, instrument measurement, and report actual impact after release (revenue, retention, efficiency, member experience).
- Apply AI across the product lifecycle using AI tools to accelerate analysis, requirements development, prototyping, and testing, and advocate for an AI-first approach to data product delivery.
- Drive AI-based data self-service in partnership with marketing, operations, and other business teams to help business users answer their own questions from key data assets and reduce reliance on custom dashboards and one-off reporting.
- Create wireframes and mockups for dashboards and visualizations using BI tools; iterate with business users and developers so delivered visuals answer the right questions.
- Analyze the platform in context of end-to-end business processes across marketing campaigns, sales workflows, member services operations, and supporting systems; use data to define operational issues, recommend enhancements, and guide changes from planning through testing and implementation.
- Validate solutions through QA and ownership of user acceptance testing (UAT) plans with business stakeholders; collaborate with engineering during user testing, address technical and functional questions, and refine solutions as needed.
- Provide product input into architecture decisions for EMR and proprietary data assets, supporting AI-driven insights, business team effectiveness, and member experience throughout a member’s health journey.
- Apply working knowledge of the healthcare industry to translate problems and opportunities into well-formed user stories, ensuring products meet healthcare regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and related compliance standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
- Minimum three (3) years of related experience in product ownership, business analysis, or technical product management, preferably supporting analytics or data products.
- Hands-on data skills: strong SQL and Python, analytics tooling, and experience with modern data platforms including Databricks; experience designing conceptual and logical data models.
- Ability to serve as a liaison between business and engineering; experience owning a product backlog and facilitating agile ceremonies (scrum, backlog refinement, sprint planning); experience building wireframes and dashboards using BI/data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Practical experience applying AI/LLM tools in a product or analytics context.
- Strong preference for a track record partnering with business teams to deliver measurable outcomes.
