Sr Data Analyst - FP&A Reporting & Analytics

Target seeks a Senior Data Analyst for FP&A Reporting & Analytics in Minneapolis, MN (hybrid), focused on standardized financial reporting across FP&A and the design, automation, and enhancement of reporting solutions to support scalable analytics.

Responsibilities

• Produce standardized, accurate FP&A financial reporting that delivers actionable insights.
• Collaborate with finance leaders and business stakeholders to design and automate reporting solutions that enable data driven decisions.
• Provide scalable reporting, dashboards, and analytical insights to multiple FP&A functions including Merch Finance, Marketing, Stores, Supply Chain, Corporate Finance, and Capital.

Requirements

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years as a Data Analyst with strong quantitative coursework or equivalent experience
• Advanced SQL experience with complex query writing
• Proficiency in Python or R
• Knowledge of forecasting models and statistical analysis
• Advanced data visualization skills with the ability to build interactive, executive-ready dashboards in Power BI, Looker, Tableau, or similar tools
• Strong problem solving, analytical thinking, data curiosity, data mining, data creation, and data consolidation capabilities
• Ability to support conclusions with clear storytelling using descriptive statistics, basic inferential statistics, and visualizations
• Willingness to ask questions about business objectives and measurement needs, and to define objectives and key results
• Excellent communication skills to bridge business and technical teams
• Experience with analytics tools such as SQL, Excel, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Python, R, Domo, Adobe Analytics (or Google Analytics) and/or equivalent technologies
