Job Description
Staff Product Data Scientist role focused on metrics, analytics infrastructure, and self-serve reporting for Communications & Time Management (CTM) across Gmail, Chat, and Calendar.
Responsibilities
- Lead research and development of metric frameworks to quantify user engagement and productivity.
- Develop new methodologies to assess the impact of GenAI and agentic tooling embedded in Workspace products, including effectiveness, adoption, and efficiency gains.
- Serve as a strategic connector between product engineering and central data infrastructure teams.
- Mobilize resources and influence partner roadmaps while driving complex, multi-team telemetry and infrastructure efforts from inception through execution.
- Design and build scalable data models and analytics architecture that connect data across multiple product domains.
- Ensure analytics cohesion across Workspace rather than keeping product-specific data in isolated silos.
- Scope and execute initiatives to enable self-serve analytics.
- Design unified semantic layers, governed metric stores, and high-impact executive dashboards.
- Lead next-generation AI-powered self-serve analytics tooling.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- 10+ years using analytics to solve product or business problems, including statistical analysis and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
- Alternative qualification: 8+ years work experience plus a Master's degree.
