Student Data Analyst

Publix Super Markets, Inc. runs a semiannual Student Data Analyst internship designed for college students who want practical experience in data analytics. The program is based at Publix’s corporate headquarters in Lakeland, FL, where interns work alongside the Supply Chain Data Analytics team on forecasting and related analytics work. Throughout the internship, the student gains exposure to both machine learning and business intelligence concepts through hands-on projects.

This is an onsite role within a team that applies analytics to support supply chain decisions. As part of the internship, you will contribute to analyses, help build modeling approaches, and support forecast improvement efforts in collaboration with data analytics professionals.

Role focus

• Support supply chain forecasting and related analytics initiatives with the Supply Chain Data Analytics team
• Contribute to analytics outputs intended for insights and recommendations to analytics team members and business area leadership

Responsibilities

• Develop and assist with the development of new analyses, metrics, and reports that help generate actionable recommendations
• Create and refine algorithms and analytical models that transform a process into a data model
• Coordinate with Data Scientists to identify and access learning and training opportunities that strengthen data modeling, statistical analysis, and other analytical techniques
• Partner with Data Analysts and Data Scientists to research and apply statistical modeling algorithms aimed at improving forecast accuracy
