Technical Data Analyst

Join IDR, Inc. as a Technical Data Analyst supporting data governance and modernization efforts within the financial services space. This onsite role is based in Chicago, IL, partnering with teams to strengthen data quality, maintain data lineage, and deliver end-to-end requirements for evolving financial data systems.

Working at the intersection of analytics and platform modernization, you will use SQL and ETL practices alongside modern data tooling to validate solutions and help ensure that data stays reliable across connected systems.

Role Summary

The position supports finance transformation projects and data governance initiatives for a client in Chicago, Illinois. The work focuses on improving data quality and traceability across systems, including legacy environments, while contributing to the implementation and modernization of financial data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide data analysis support for finance transformation projects and data governance initiatives.
• Support the implementation and modernization of financial data systems, including end-to-end requirement delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate data lineage and data quality across systems.
• Use SQL, ETL, and modern data platform capabilities to develop and validate data solutions.
• Lead workstreams independently, managing issues and communicating technical details to stakeholders.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a technical data analyst.
• Demonstrated expertise in finance modernization, including experience with subledgers, GAAP reporting, and accounting systems.
• Strong hands-on skills in SQL, ETL development, and data transformation.
• Experience with Databricks, medallion architecture, and Azure-based data platforms.
• Ability to create and manage data lineage across multiple systems, including legacy environments.
