  • Make and shape technical decisions, mentor developers, resolve engineering blockers, and coordinate with engineering managers to support delivery.
  • Provide hands-on technical direction for full-stack applications, APIs, microservices, and integration services, reinforcing discipline across design, development, testing, deployment, observability, and production readiness.
  • Partner with Product Owners, engineering managers, architecture, business stakeholders, and cross-functional technology teams to align technical priorities, manage dependencies, and deliver business outcomes.
  • Drive design and implementation of Java-based microservices, REST APIs, front-end applications, and integration services using modern technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Angular or React, SQL, relational databases, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Build proofs of concept, demos, and prototypes to assess emerging technologies and validate new ideas.
  • Establish and reinforce engineering standards for scalable design, code quality, automated testing, peer reviews, deployment discipline, application security, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure solutions account for compliance, auditability, security, resiliency, accessibility, and production support considerations.
  • Improve production support practices through incident triage, root-cause analysis, observability, recovery patterns, and continuous improvement of application and platform reliability.
  • Mentor developers through design reviews, code reviews, technical problem solving, implementation guidance, and knowledge sharing.

Required qualifications

  • 8+ years of related software engineering or technology delivery experience, including demonstrated technical leadership guiding teams through complex application delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience establishing and applying engineering standards including scalability, code quality, automated testing, peer reviews, deployment discipline, performance optimization, compliance, auditability, and production readiness.
  • Experience supporting production reliability through incident triage, root-cause analysis, observability, resiliency improvements, and operational readiness practices.
  • Strong technical leadership skills: mentoring, coaching, peer review, influencing without direct authority, and practical engineering guidance.
  • Ability to coordinate technical dependencies with vendors, Product Owners, architecture teams, business stakeholders, and internal engineering teams.
