Translational AI Engineer | Biomedical Informatics Specialist
Job Description
Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is seeking a Translational AI Engineer and Biomedical Informatics Specialist to support the Biomedical Informatics component for the Children’s Foundation Research Institute (CFRI). In this onsite role in Memphis, TN, you will help transform and strengthen informatics technologies that enable biomedical research by turning researcher needs into practical technical designs.
You will develop software, data storage, and translational science technologies, partnering closely with researchers to ensure informatics solutions align with research objectives.
What you’ll do
- Use and implement software and design practices to document biomedical informatics solutions for a wide range of informatics and research use cases.
- Collaborate directly with researchers to analyze their requirements and translate them into technical designs and informatics solutions.
- Coordinate efforts to help ensure biomedical informatics systems support research objectives through effective project management, presentation, communication, and organization practices.
- Lead initiatives aimed at advancing research objectives through biomedical informatics systems.
Qualifications
- Required: Master’s Degree in Biostatistics.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Biomedical Informatics.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer sciences.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Public Health.
- Required: Informatics technologies experience (1-3 years).
- Knowledge of preparing peer review articles.
- Experience with web development technologies, web-scripting, and object-oriented languages including PHP, C#, SQL, CSS, JavaScript, JAVA, XML, HTML5, and Web services.
- Working knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, plus version control and continuous integration tools.
- Familiarity with Data Management Systems such as REDCap and OpenClinica.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience developing applications for higher education or biomedical environments, including general-purpose visual analytic tools for visually browsing and arranging large datasets for research.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, analyze data for publications and instructional materials, and communicate findings through presentations and articles.

Physical demands
