Responsibilities
- Design and develop machine learning models and algorithms to support clinical decisions or provide recommendations.
- Train, evaluate, and tune models to achieve robust performance.
- Build and assess models, perform statistical analyses, and extract insights from imaging data.
- Apply advanced analytics and ML techniques to identify patterns and trends.
- Gather, process, and verify the quality, consistency, and reliability of raw data from multiple sources.
- Identify and address data-related issues such as data drift or preprocessing problems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data science projects.
- Communicate findings and provide data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.
- Validate models through statistical tests and cross-validation to ensure generalizability.
- Document data sources, cleaning processes, and detailed model descriptions, including assumptions, parameters, and performance metrics.
Requirements
- Masterβs degree, Ph.D. preferred, in Data Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. Experience with Medical Imaging or Healthcare Data and knowledge of privacy regulations including HIPAA, GDPR, and medical device compliance (ISO 13485, FDA guidelines).
- 3+ years of professional experience as a data scientist in healthcare, life sciences, or medical device environments.
- Strong understanding of medical imaging standards and formats (DICOM, NIfTI) and familiarity with imaging data management tools (PACS, cloud-based storage for imaging data). Experience managing medical imaging databases and integrating imaging data into AI/ML workflows.
- Proficiency in Python and data management tools for organizing imaging datasets, such as SQL, NoSQL, or specialized medical data storage systems. Familiarity with data labeling platforms and tools for managing annotation processes (Labelbox, Supervisely).
- Ability to meet minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements with or without accommodations.

The pay range for this position in Plymouth, MN is USD 120,487 to USD 192,780. The actual base pay offered may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, experience, business needs, location, and internal equity. In addition, compensation may include incentives such as annual bonuses, stock-based awards, or long-term incentives.
