Develop and implement machine learning models across the full life cycle, including problem framing, data collection and preparation, feature engineering, model selection, training, evaluation, deployment, retraining, and continued advancement.
Design and build AI agents that execute within enterprise workflows across systems such as databases, CRMs, ticketing, and knowledge bases, ensuring deployments include reliable and safety guardrails.
Implement end-to-end agent orchestration, including prompting, memory/state, tool-calling, and retries/fallbacks, along with evaluation frameworks such as test suites, simulations, and human-in-the-loop review to improve accuracy and reduce errors.
Build and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) GPT applications by integrating enterprise knowledge sources (documents and databases) using embeddings, vector search, and prompt orchestration, with evaluation and safety guardrails for grounded responses.
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights, and create visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Monitor and evaluate performance of data models and systems, making adjustments to optimize both accuracy and efficiency.
Document processes, methodologies, and model development to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
Provide training and support to other team members or departments on data tools, techniques, and best practices.
Consult with internal IT teams to help ensure infrastructure supports stable, well-designed, highly available, and well-maintained Data Science and AI applications.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve data engineering practices and contribute to cutting-edge solutions.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security by implementing and enforcing data governance policies and best practices.

What you bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field from an accredited college or university; Master of Science preferred.
5+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or a related role, including hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning models.
Advanced proficiency in Python and ML/data libraries including scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Pandas, and NumPy.
Strong knowledge of machine learning methods, including supervised learning (regression, classification) and unsupervised learning (clustering, dimensionality reduction, anomaly detection).
Strong SQL skills, including designing and querying relational databases and supporting data warehousing; familiarity with ETL/ELT workflows and tools such as SSIS or equivalents.
Working knowledge of medallion architectures.
Experience with cloud-based ML development and deployment on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Proficiency with version control and collaboration workflows, including Git, branching strategies, code review, and basic CI/CD concepts.
Expertise in probability and statistics, including experimental design, hypothesis testing, modeling uncertainty, performance measurement, and choosing appropriate evaluation metrics.
Experience building AI model-powered applications and workflows using model APIs, including prompt design, tool/function calling, structured outputs (JSON), and response validation/guardrails.
Strong understanding of RAG architectures, including document ingestion, chunking strategies, metadata design, embedding generation, and retrieval methods.
Hands-on experience with vector databases/search systems and tuning retrieval for relevance, latency, and cost.

GTM AI Engineer

AppWork Saint Petersburg, FL

Full time Marketing Artificial Intelligence Data Integration

This position is no longer accepting applications (closed Sep 3, 2026).

Job Description

AppWork is hiring a GTM AI Engineer to build the organization’s AI infrastructure for Sales and Marketing. This is a hands-on role focused on mapping go-to-market workflows, finding bottlenecks, and delivering AI tools and agents that help reps and marketers get more done. You’ll connect and automate across the existing stack, track adoption and impact, and lead the rollout so the team actually uses what you build. This position is hybrid and based in Saint Petersburg, FL.

What You’ll Do

Partner with Sales reps and marketing to map day-to-day workflows and identify the bottlenecks worth solving.
Design and build AI tools and agents from scratch when no off-the-shelf option fits the problem, rather than only stitching together existing software.
Connect and automate across the current stack, including HubSpot, ClickUp, Slack, and others, where integration and automation are the right solutions.
Maintain a strategic view of how systems should work together while prototyping quickly, testing small, and iterating based on real usage.
Drive change alongside the technical work by training the team, building adoption, and serving as a go-to subject matter resource when tooling needs adjustment.
Measure adoption and impact for what you ship, then use the results to decide what to double down on and what to stop.
Act as AppWork’s subject matter expert for applied AI in GTM, staying current on what’s possible and translating it into solutions that are useful in practice.

First Two Months

Month one is learning: you’ll work with reps and marketing to understand processes end to end and uncover where friction truly occurs.
Month two is building: you’ll turn what you learned into working prototypes, test them with the people who will use them, and refine quickly based on what sticks.
After that: you’ll help build the AI infrastructure long term, creating new tools where needed, building integrations where it adds leverage, and leading training and rollout for adoption.

Skills and Experience

Versatility across strategy and hands-on building, plus comfort working through technical change with people.
A builder mindset: prefer prototyping and learning from results over long planning cycles.
Strong technical ability with real experience building solutions such as custom AI agents and automations, scripts, or integrations (not only template configuration).
Comfort with both no-code and low-code tools (including Zapier, Clay, HubSpot workflows) and code (such as Python, JavaScript, or similar).
Experience operating in ambiguity and still arriving at working solutions without a playbook.
Proven experience leading change with non-technical teams, including training, adoption, and staying with a rollout until it takes hold.
Ability to translate business pain points into technical solutions and explain them clearly in plain language.
Curiosity about AI systems and agents, with strong judgment on where they create real value versus where they add noise.

Tools You’ll Work With

HubSpot, ClickUp, Slack, Zapier, Clay, Python, JavaScript

Benefits

Competitive salary
Equity
Unlimited PTO
Medical, dental, and vision coverage

Nice to Have (Not Required)

Prior experience building AI agents or applied AI tools in a business setting
Background in revenue operations, sales, or marketing
Experience in multifamily, proptech, or another vertical SaaS business

Why this seat: you won’t inherit an existing system. You’ll have direct access to the CRO, meaningful autonomy in how you approach the problem, and the opportunity to define what an AI-first GTM org looks like at AppWork from the ground up.
