Job Description

DataAnnotation is seeking a remote Principal Data Scientist - AI Trainer to evaluate AI-generated quantitative work and provide actionable feedback to strengthen AI reasoning. This contract role offers flexible, project-based scheduling with compensation up to $60 per hour. The position is based in Toledo, Ohio, with remote work options and requires a minimum of two years of quantitative experience.

Responsibilities

Assess AI-generated quantitative outputs, including statistical analyses, predictive models, scientific reasoning, and data-driven insights, for technical accuracy and real-world validity.
Design and solve quantitative problems used to train and benchmark AI systems, spanning forecasting, experimental analysis, optimization, and statistical inference.
Write clear technical explanations and maintain well-documented analytical code.
Provide feedback that directly informs the development of AI models built for quantitative reasoning.

Requirements

2+ years of hands-on experience in a quantitative role or research environment, such as data science, statistics, economics, finance, physics, biology, epidemiology, operations research, or related fields.
Some coding experience with the ability to write and review analytical code end-to-end.
Practical experience with statistical methods, predictive modeling, and experiment design, including A/B testing, hypothesis testing, regression, classification, and time-series forecasting.
Fluency in English with strong writing skills.
A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field is preferred; a master’s degree or PhD is a plus.
Credentials such as Kaggle rankings or AWS/GCP ML certifications are a plus.
