Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a data platform with Starburst/Trino as the core query engine
• Enable secure, high-performance data access across diverse sources such as object storage, relational databases, and streaming systems
• Apply infrastructure as code practices for data and platform services
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for the data platform and deployments
• Incorporate DevSecOps principles across the stack
• Improve query performance, cost efficiency, and reliability in distributed environments
• Collaborate with governance, security, and product teams to ensure data trust and compliance
• Support and evolve the UDE to enable self-service analytics

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering and/or DevSecOps
• Strong experience with Starburst Enterprise, Trino, and/or Presto
• Proficiency in advanced Linux scripting and at least one programming language (Python recommended); Red Hat 8 Administration and Ansible experience preferred
• Experience with Iceberg, Hive, or similar table formats
• Solid understanding of distributed query engines and data architectures
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform or similar IaC tools
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python or similar)
• Experience implementing data security, access controls and governance at scale
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
• US Citizenship is required for this role
